The CompTIA A+ is an internationally recognised certification considered by many as the starting point to a career in the IT industry. The Certification requires two exams to be completed, the 220-901 Essentials and the 220-902 Practical Application.
As a Pearson Edexcel approved training provider we deliver BTEC qualifications which cover similar subjects and over the years many of our BTEC students then go on to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ as an additional certification.
Because of this we have recently updated our main IT Support Course so that the learning outcomes for the BTEC Certificate in ICT Systems & Principles Level 2, BTEC Certificate in ICT Systems & Principles Level 3 are combined with the 220-901 and 220-902 objectives, meaning that with a single learning subscription all 3 qualifications can be obtained offering the perfect blend of vocational, accredit qualifications with industry recognised certification.
We have decided to use this section of the blog to provide additional notes on the CompTIA objectives. This section is still in progress and we intend to update on a weekly basis.
Ideally this is intended for those who are using our BTEC & CompTIA A+ study kits but anyone is free to use these notes. If you are completely new to IT then we would recommend the Free Computer Hardware & Operating System Intro Course as it will cover some of the basic concepts needed to get started.
